Ability to Manually Resolve a Blocking AI Exception

Here's the scenario:
Blocking AI Exception: Shift Duration Exceeds Schedule—the recorded time is 27 minutes over the scheduled time. The office has verified the extra time with the caregiver, wants to keep the extra time for billable and payable. The office will leave a note on the shift acknowledging the extra time. Now, they want to manually 'unblock' the exception so that it's 'resolved'.

Regarding the AI Exception for the shift duration exceeding the schedule by 27 minutes, here's what you need to know:
How to Resolve Exceptions: You can remove the exception by editing the shift time to match the scheduled time and re-running the AI review. The AI will see that the exception no longer exists and will clear it from the shift. This isn't necessary if you've approved the extra time.
If you're comfortable with the extra time (or any exceptions on the shift):
- Add the shift to the invoice for billing purposes.
- When available, approve the shift for payroll.
- No need to "resolve" or clear the exception; it stays for record-keeping.
Exception Persistence: By design, if exceptions are not resolved and the shift is approved for billing and/or payroll, the exception will remain on the shift record for audit and record-keeping purposes.
Given that you've verified the extra time with the caregiver and want to keep it for billing and payroll, we recommend proceeding with adding the shift to the invoice (and approving for payroll when available) without editing the time. The exception will remain on the shift.
I am going to mark this issue as closed due to the fact there is nothing to change here. We feel strongly that exceptions should remain on the shift for record keeping purposes, even if the shift is approved for billing / payroll. Let us know if you have any further thoughts on this topic.
