This release gives caregivers a faster way to return to the portal, gives agencies more flexibility when setting caregiver pay rates by territory, and makes it easier to track referral sources. It also includes several improvements to billing, eligibility, scheduling, and settings.

What’s New

Caregiver Portal Quick-Resume PIN

Caregivers using the web portal and the mobile app can now quickly return to their session without entering their full login information every time they step away.

After the portal has been inactive for your agency's configured amount of time, it locks behind a 4-digit PIN. The caregiver can use the PIN to resume their session without signing in again.

If a caregiver forgets their PIN, they can use a login code to reset it.
The caregiver's underlying session remains active; the PIN only locks access to the screen.

Record Absences and Call-Offs Directly from the Schedule

You can now record caregiver absences and call-offs directly from the Shifts Calendar or an employee’s Schedule tab. This makes it easier to keep schedules and caregiver availability up to date.

Record call-offs, planned time off, and other types of absences directly from the schedule.

When an absence is approved, Careswitch identifies any overlapping shifts and gives you a chance to review them before they are unassigned.

Approved absences appear on the calendar and are included in the caregiver’s availability, helping ensure they aren’t offered shifts during their time off.

View a history of absence requests, approvals, and status changes in the caregiver’s activity feed.

Territory-Based Pay Rates

Agencies can now set different caregiver pay rates based on where a client is located.

Create territories for your agency, assign clients to a territory, and set each caregiver's hourly rate for that territory. Careswitch automatically determines the appropriate rate when a shift is scheduled or accepted.

Create and manage named territories in Settings.

Assign clients to territories. Careswitch can suggest a territory based on the client's address.

Referral Sources

You can now track where clients and referrals come from directly in Careswitch.

Create and manage your agency's referral sources, select a referral source when creating a client, and identify referral partners through the client's Connections tab.

Fixes & Reliability

Billing & Claims

Canceled shifts marked as billable can now be added directly to a claim or invoice.
Billing and utilization previews now use the same rounding rules that are applied when a shift is actually billed.
Fixed an issue that could prevent a shift from being added to a replacement claim when the shift covered multiple services.

Eligibility

Eligibility checks now use the correct payer when a client's plan has a sponsoring payer.
Improved payer selection to ensure eligibility checks are matched to the appropriate coverage.

AI Shift Review

AI shift review now considers the correct payer and billing policy when identifying exceptions for shifts billed through third-party payers.

Settings & Administration

Payer names now display consistently throughout Careswitch.
Updated sort menu checkmarks for a more consistent experience.
Fixed an issue that could cause an error when editing or removing tags in Settings.
